If you have a relative with Type 1 diabetes, you are 15 times more likely to develop Type 1 diabetes than the general population. By joining us on the Pathway to Prevention study, relatives may be eligible to join one of three important prevention trials. The first step is screening relatives for risk markers called autoantibodies.
By getting screened, you may:
Anyone between the ages of 1 and 45 years with a sibling, child or parent with type 1 diabetes.
Anyone between the ages of 1 and 20 with a sibling, child, parent, cousin, uncle, aunt, niece, nephew, grandparent or half-sibling with type 1 diabetes.
Sign up and we'll send you everything you need. Screening will be at no cost to you.
Note: Screening at Quest facilities is only available for persons located in the US, If you are located outside of this area, but still want to participate, please click here for more information.
Screening through TrialNet is available to eligible family members of people with type 1 diabetes through an international research effort led by the National Institutes of Health.
